Overview

Dockside Inn and Suites is a value resort with a sand, sea, and sunsets theme. A little more than half the rooms at each Endless Summer complex are 440-square-foot suites with three queen beds, one bathroom, and a kitchenette.

Endless Summer is a much better value than the "Value" resorts at Disney. We stayed in a 3-queen suite at Dockside and couldn't believe how spacious and comfortable it was, with enough room for a sweet little picnic table big enough for four.

Having stayed at "value" resorts at Disney and now Universal, I have to say Universal is the better value. Our room at Dockside was bigger and $50-$70 less than a tiny room at Pop Century.

Dockside Starbucks An outpost of the ever-present Starbucks chain in the lobby of the Dockside Inn.

Pier 8 Market The sister cafeteria to Surfside Inn’s Beachside Cafe has its own unique menu with similarly low prices, as well as a seaport-inspired layout featuring five grab-and-go serving windows that resemble open-air market stalls. Breakfast specialties include upscale items like avocado toast and Baja burritos, while the signature lunchtime entrée is a Dockworker Wrap filled with pastrami, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and fries. Dinner offerings include whole pizzas, stuffed shells, and barbecue-bacon burgers. The best news is that you can have fried chicken and waffles in the morning with maple syrup, and again in the evening with hot sauce and mashed potatoes. Desserts include a panini-pressed s’mores sandwich, Key lime pie, and sugar-dusted zeppole. Dockside Inn also has a full-service Starbucks, an indoor Sunset Lounge lobby bar, and a poolside Oasis Beach Bar that serves drinks named after former Wet ’n Wild waterslides.

Mobile Check-In

Hotel mobile check-in lets guests perform several check-in tasks before leaving for their visit, leading to a smoother and shorter process once they arrive at the hotel. Check your email about 24 hours in advance for an invitation to do mobile check-in.

Theme Park Tickets

Park tickets are best purchased online in advance either directly through Universal Orlando or from a trusted reseller. However, if you arrive without park tickets, head to the Vacation Planning desk in the hotel lobby.

Dining Reservations

Table service dining reservations can be made via Universal Orlando's Dining Reservations website or app.

Laundry

Washers and dryers are availabile in laundry facilities at each Universal Orlando hotel. Only credit/debit cards can be used for payment. A small selection of soap, fabric softener, and dryer sheets is sold in vending machines in the laundry rooms.

Shopping

Universal hotels have gifts shops near their lobbies with a decent collection of souvenirs. You will also find basic pharmacy items such as sunscreen, aspirin, allergy and cold medicine, baby diapers and formula, shampoo, and the like.

Universal recommends a third party company, Kid's Nite Out, to provide babysitting services at the resort hotels.
