Guests board a specially designed canoe that seats up to four. The ride uses lin - ear induction motor technology, which launches the canoe uphill as well as down - hill as you twist and turn around the volcano’s blown-out interior. It’s similar to Crush ’n’ Gusher at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon but far longer and more thrilling, delivering delightful moments of air time like a real coaster. It’s a shame that Universal didn’t make Krakatau a full-blown dark ride by including indoor scenes or special effects, but this is still the best waterslide we’ve ever been on. Krakatau is the park’s starring headliner and can only service about 700 guests per hour, so either take advantage of “Ride Now” at rope drop or get your Virtual Line reservation as early as possible.
